I changed a few details in the story, still a military operation, but not a sperm and egg story. It may take place in human body. I created a character that represent the enemies to the soldiers.
This is the animatic for the whole story in color, it may show the shot of the final work.
I think the part that the soldiers fight with the bad conditions during the journey is quite interesting and may deserve to further close up to the details based on different actions. So I did a little test with some rough sketched paper cutting scanned and manipulated in After Effects.
The story is basically about the sperm tracing the egg. I think it will be fun to explain the process and the journey as a military operation. The process of the sperm make the egg fertilize is actually really difficult, it will through a lot of danger and obstacles. It is still the rough story, just occur to me...need further consideration of the details...
I quite like this piece of animation which tell the simple story narratively.
The story is really simple actually, about tadpole try to find their mother, and during their finding, they do not know where to go, they kept coming to the wrong guy, but after all these, they finally found their mother.
The style of traditional Chinese painting is quite elegant as well.
I'd like to start with some easy situation then complex it and make it fun and interesting.
Aim: I am going to produce a piece of animation that explains something serious in a funny way. I think it is the easier way to make people understand something abstract or dull. I’d like to make it simple and interesting through narrative and see how things get resolution.
Learning Outcomes: -Try to exaggerate everything to make it funny. -Further my skills of After Effects -Start with a simple point to see how it develops and how to get the resolution.
What will people usually do when they are waiting in the different places? I listed a few places which people may need to wait and mind maped a few things which people will do for killing time~
This is a image from a furniture show which shows the world from a child's eye. It kind of remind me that when I was young, everything are super big as well.
Then I started thinking what child will do in a super big world, may just like a ordinary guy get into a giant world accidentally. So what will a child do or use in this super big world?
I am quite interested in this kind of combine two different media together to achieve a certain purpose. I'd like to explore the different influence by means of gathering different medias together.
-Children do not have much experience waiting. It takes time for them to learn why waiting is sometimes necessary and how to do it. -Part of a child’s ability to wait depends on his age. As age increases, so will a child’s attention span. -Children have trouble waiting because they don’t understand how time passes. They need some concrete aids to help them to understand. -Kitchen timer sometimes is easy to tell the child exactly how long is one minute and how long is one hour. -Those things like books, crayons, paper and other toys could make it much easier for a child during waiting.
The mother tried to teach her daughter how to wait, and understand the time by means of giving her a kitchen timer and telling her that when the timer dings she will come back.
Then, the mother left.
At first, the daughter very happy about her mother's leaving, she entertained herself with some subjects at home during the waiting time, then got bored and at last fell in sleep.
When the timer dings, the mother came back and found her daughter and the mass at home, she put her daughter in bed, kissed her and turn off the light.
I want to keep my subject matter as simple as possible. I started with the everyday situation. The audiences may get through these situations themselves everyday, so they can feel what I feel and what I want to communicate. It makes it possible to get them influenced.
I think waiting is a very necessary thing for everyone everyday, so I decided to make the animation based on "waiting".
Aim: I am going to produce a piece of 2D animation that explore the personal emotions through action and sound. I will focus on the story telling and the visual way to express the emotions properly in order to influence audiences.
Learning Outcomes: -Explore the effective way to visualize the story in order to have emotional influence with the audiences. -Understand the visual elements which could express emotions. (e.g. colors, shapes, positions, etc.) -Apply the animation principles to it in order to get a better achievement. -Further my skills in After Effects.
